What is HIFU?
HIFU is the abbreviation for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, which is used to target several layers of the body’s tissue. HIFU treatment is a non-invasive beauty treatment that works by targeting the deep layers within the skin. As a result, it boosts new collagen production and regeneration right at the source of the targeted area. It is sometimes called the ‘Lunchtime Facelift’ since the treatment is fairly quick, tolerable, and has no downtime.
Is HIFU painful?
Pain intensity in HIFU is actually relative,You may feel slight discomfort during the treatment of HIFU, according to most of Pinsela Aesthetic’s clients. HIFU is typically not painful and the discomfort will fade in a few minutes.
What is the HIFU procedure at Pinsela Aesthetic?
-You will be asked to fill your medical history and consent form, at Pinsela Aesthetic we will do consultation prior to the treatment
-Before photos will be taken on treatment area (this will be classified and for your own record)
-Cleansing the face with toner and make up remover to remove any makeup on the targeted area
-Marking the targeted area.
-Applying conductive gel for HIFU.
-Starting the HIFU treatment.
-Clean the treated area again, using toner and application of sunscreen
-After photos will be taken on treatment area (this will be classified and for your own record)
How long until I could see the optimal results?
The desired results will most likely take place over the next 1 to 3 months after the treatment. During this period of time, the old collagen is replaced with new collagen that has a higher level of elasticity
What should the client do before the HIFU treatment?
-Avoid sun exposure as sunburned and freshly tanned skin can't be treated with HIFU.
-Do not take antibiotics prior to the treatment because antibiotics may cause the skin to be more light-sensitive.
-Make sure you do not have cold sores, herpes, active acne, or open wounds in the area of treatment.
-Do not wear makeup in the area of treatment.
-Take off jewelry or any metal accessory in the area of treatment.
What should the client do after the HIFU treatment?
-Avoid extreme sun exposure and cold for at least 3 days after the treatment.
-Avoid alcohol for 5 days
-Use sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 and don't forget to reapply the sunscreen if you're under the direct sunlight.
-Avoid hot showers or baths for at least 2 days after the treatment.
-Take a break from alcohol as your liver will work extra due to breaking down the deactivated fat.
-Avoid scratching the treated area.
-Drink plenty of water.
Are there any risks after undergoing a HIFU treatment?
HIFU is considered very safe if performed by a qualified practitioner. HIFU treatment usually has no downtime so you can just continue your daily activities after the treatment. One of the things that you’ll experience is mostly just mild redness and swelling that will gradually recede after a few hours or a few days. Rarely, in some cases you may experience temporary numbness or bruising, but these side effects usually go away after a few days. Is there anyone who can’t undergo HIFU treatment?
- Intense or cystic acne in the treatment area (mild acne is fine, please book a consultation)
- Infections and open pores and skin lesions in the treatment area

- Prednisone Auto Immune
- On going cancer patient
- Metal bone on the treated area
- Defibrillators
- Liver or kidney condition
